The Prototype Statue !
Im a big fan of DellOtto artwork, Love how gorunded their characters are,
and his Magneto its really something special.
The theme of the base is old Auschwitz. It signifies Magneto’s mutant power being activated (at least in the movies) at the concentration camp. The thought here is this is him returning, stoic, powerful, and destroying it.
It pays homage to the folks that ended up being trapped there.
Mags in the middle of the tracks. Where the prisoners were dropped off via rail box car.
On the sides, there are 5 patina copper plaques, each with a symbol on them.
These symbols represent the classification (at least in part) of the prisoners.
Also on the ground is some books. On the inside pages of one of the books Iquote in German:
"Willingly or not we come to terms with power, forgetting that we are all inside the ghetto, that the ghetto is walled in, that outside the ghetto reign the lords of death, and close by the train is waiting."
It is powerful. A good quote to hide this message … signifies the indoctrination of the Nazi’s and how wrong it was.
